1. International Volunteer Day

05 December, International Volunteer Day, is a day to pay special tribute to the volunteers who work to make the earth a better place.

Volunteers give their time, energies and skills to change the world for an improved future. International Volunteer Day is a worldwide observance selected by the United Nations since 1985. Every year a new theme is selected for celebrating International Volunteer Day.

2. Human Rights Day

10 December, Human Rights Day is observed every year along with a special slogan.

Every human is born with basic human rights but disrespecting others’ rights has become a common practice these days. To make our world a safe place for all, we have to raise our voices against any inhuman act wherever it is in the home or outside! If we see a person is at risk of discrimination or violence, we should defend his/her rights.

3. Mevlana Whirling Dervishes

December 10-17, Mevlana Whirling Dervishes Festival in Konya, Turkey can bring you to a sense of the divine.

In this festival, you can realize the power of devotion. The dervishes in white robes and tall hats whirl in circles as a form of remembrance of Eternity. The festival was founded by the followers of Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet, and Sufi mystic.

4. Bangladesh Victory Day

16 December, National Victory Day of Bangladesh and a day that is celebrated by all levels of Bangladeshis.

On this day in 1971, Bangladesh gained a victory. Bangladesh itself and Bangladeshi in each corner of the world observe the day with enormous joy. The festival of victory continues throughout the whole month. All the govt. and non-govt. offices are being closed during the public holiday. All the people celebrate the day with joy and paying respect to the martyrs of the liberation war. 

5. Christmas Day

25 December, Christmas is celebrated by Christians all over the world; though, the celebration is not limited in one day.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born on this day. Give and receive presents is the culture of Christmas. It brings great enjoyment, especially among children. People spend more time with family and friends and remember the good things while taking preparation for Christmas day.

6. New Year’s Eve

31 December, New Year’s Eve is observed, which is one of the most celebrated festivals in December, also known as Old Year’s Day.

The celebration generally starts from the evening on the last day of the year and continue up to New Year’s Day. People create social gatherings on the evening of the day, where they dance, eat, drink and watch fireworks to mark the New Year. Midnight of December 31, the eyes of the world start a countdown and cheer when the clocks get in touch with New Year.
