TODAY’S action movie features a discipline, which is known as parkour that doesn’t require any special effect. You can check the best list of parkour movies on the Film Fish. Without assistive equipment, parkour practitioners run, jump, climb, swing, roll, vault in their circumstances in a graceful way that they consider most appropriate for a particular situation. Actually, parkour is a military form of practice that uses several extraordinary movements to overcome obstacles. It involves discovering an environment in a new way, which can be practiced alone or in a group. Parkour was originally developed in France by Raymond Belle, father of David Belle.

Parkour became popular in the mid-2000s, though it has been used on the big screen since 1997. This reading is particularly dedicated to the fans of parkour movies. As a fan of action movies as well as parkour, I’m going to suggest you some movies which are my favorite only because of parkour stunts. Here, 6 movies that feature a series of incredible parkour action.

Tracers (2015)

Parkour is the main plot point in this movie that features some impressive athletic freerunning moves. Taylor Lauther, the Twilight legend plays the main role in Tracers. Lauther not only delivers his moves on the bicycle perfectly, but also his attractiveness wins the hearts of his female audience. Lauther has done a great job in this parkour action movie. He looks very attractive in his moves.

Outline of the story– Lauther as Cam is a young New York City bicycle messenger who tries to settle up his debt with a crowd of criminals. Cam joins a parkour practitioners’ gang, who use their acrobatic skills to pull off daring robberies. Cam is wanted by the Chinese mafia, but he wants to escape the world of parkour after meeting a beautiful stranger as Nikki.

Did you know– “Traceur” is the original word that translated into English as “Tracer”, which is the French name of a parkour practitioner.

Brick Mansions (2014)

Brick Mansions is the second last film of late Paul Walker’s that hit theaters in 2014. This movie features amazing parkour stunts, which is the based on the French action movie District B13. This film was highly attributed for conveying the acrobatic French discipline into the mainstream. Though some critics say the remake movie fails to recapture the excitement of the original French movie, but I don’t agree with that.

Storyline– Paul Walker as Damien is an undercover cop, who is determined to punish his father’s killer, Tremaine and fight against corruption. On another side, David Belle as Lino is an ex-convict fight to live an honest life. They never met before and any possibility in future. But Tremaine kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, then the undercover cop and ex-convict decide to fight together to stop the sinister who is going to devastate the whole city.

Did you know– David Belle plays the same role in this remake film, though Paul Walker plays the role of Raffaelli in District B13.

Freerunner (2011)

I have found no brainy action in this movie, but funny and full of parkour stunts. If you are a big fan of parkour, this movie will be a good choice to make your evening better. There is a lack of sensible plot that fills with a bounty of freerunning actions.

Story outline– Sean Faris as Ryan Doyle, a young freerunner is kidnapped along with other seven traceurs (parkour practitioners) by Mr. Frank, a sadistic mobster. The runners are outfitted with a ticking bomb locked to their collars so the mobster can ensure every runner’s enthusiastic participation in the race and cross the entire town in next 60 minutes. Somehow, Ryan succeeds to free his neck from the killer collar, but the evil kidnaps his girlfriend. Now Ryan races against the clock to save himself and his girlfriend, Chelsea.

Did you know– The whole movie is a non-stop run and run. While running, the freerunners perform amazing parkour stunts, especially Sean Faris.
